Payment MCP Server: Let AI Assistants Run Your Checkout, Sales and Pix

AI assistants have moved from answering questions to doing real work. With a payment MCP server, you can ask an assistant to create a product, generate a checkout link, check yesterday's Pix sales or set up a webhook, and it does it directly in your payment account. No dashboards to click through and no code to write. This tutorial explains what a payment MCP server is, how MCP payments work, how to connect AtomicPay's live server to your assistant step by step, and how to use it safely to manage checkout, sales and Pix from a chat window.

02

What is a payment MCP server?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol, an open standard introduced by Anthropic in November 2024 that lets AI assistants connect to external tools and data in a consistent way. An MCP server exposes a set of "tools" (actions) and data that an assistant can use, with the user's permission.

A payment MCP server is an MCP server for a payment platform. Instead of only reading documents, the assistant can perform actions inside your payment account, such as:

Listing your products, offers and checkouts.

Creating a new offer or updating a price.

Generating a checkout URL or a short link for a campaign.

Reading purchases, subscriptions, customers and revenue.

Creating webhooks, pixels and affiliate settings.

In simple terms, a payment MCP server turns your assistant into an operator for your checkout. You describe what you want in plain language, and the assistant uses the server's tools to do it.

03

MCP payments vs. agentic commerce: what is the difference?

The term MCP payments is used in two different ways, and it helps to separate them:

Sellers managing payments with AI. The seller uses an assistant to operate their payment account: create offers, links and reports. This is what this tutorial covers.

AI agents buying on behalf of consumers. An AI shopping agent finds a product and completes a purchase for a user. This is usually called agentic commerce, and it raises different questions about checkout design, identity and protocols. We cover it in our guide to agentic commerce.

Both trends point in the same direction: payments are becoming something AI can read and act on. For sellers, the first use case is available today and saves hours every week.

04

Why sellers should use a payment MCP server

Creators and digital businesses spend a surprising amount of time on repetitive payment tasks: creating a checkout for each campaign, building links for each affiliate, checking which offer sold best, answering "did this customer pay?" A payment MCP server helps in three ways:

Speed. "Create a R$ 97 offer for the new workshop and give me a short link for WhatsApp" takes seconds instead of several minutes of clicks.

Answers without spreadsheets. "How much did we sell by Pix last week compared with card?" returns an answer from your real sales data.

Fewer errors. The assistant follows the same steps every time, and sensitive changes such as price updates require explicit confirmation.

This is also how you start to accept payments with AI agents in practice. The agent prepares the offers, links and checkouts; your buyers pay through the same secure checkout as always.

Meet the AtomicPay payment MCP server

AtomicPay runs a live payment MCP server at:

https://mcp.atomicpay.com.br/mcp

It works with AI assistants that support remote MCP connectors. You sign in with your AtomicPay seller email and password, and the connector acts as the account that signed in, limited to the companies you approve. It does not create a separate user. You can see the full details on the AtomicPay MCP page.

06

What the assistant can do

Area

Example actions through the payment MCP server

Companies

List companies on the account, open one, read its stats and business journey

Products, plans and offers

Create and update the catalog; price changes require confirming the amount in cents

Checkout, links and funnels

Create checkout URLs and short links, read funnels, update checkout fields and upgrade links

Sales and finance

Read purchases, subscriptions, customers, revenue and campaigns

Webhooks, pixels and affiliates

List, create and update them for a company

Store and members

Read and update the store catalog, orders and member-area courses

07

What the assistant cannot see

Security is built into the design of this Pix MCP and card integration:

Card numbers, Pix codes and bank details are not sent to the assistant.

Cards and bank accounts are excluded from the sales and finance tools.

Actions follow your role in each company, including product-level limits.

You can revoke the connected app from the AtomicPay dashboard at any time.

08

How to connect the payment MCP server: step-by-step setup

Setting up the AtomicPay payment MCP server takes a few minutes. The exact menu names vary between assistants, but the process is the same.

09

Step 1: Open your assistant's connector settings

In an AI assistant that supports remote MCP servers (for example, Claude or ChatGPT on plans where custom connectors are available), open the settings area for connectors, integrations or tools, and choose to add a custom or remote MCP connector.

10

Step 2: Paste the server URL

Name the connector "AtomicPay" and paste the URL: https://mcp.atomicpay.com.br/mcp.

11

Step 3: Sign in with your AtomicPay seller account

The assistant opens an AtomicPay sign-in window. Use your seller email and password. You are signing in to AtomicPay, not giving your password to the assistant.

12

Step 4: Approve companies and permissions

Choose which companies on your account the assistant can access and approve the permissions. The assistant cannot go beyond this grant. If you manage several brands, start with one company while you test.

13

Step 5: Test with a read-only request

Start with a question that does not change anything, such as: "List my AtomicPay companies and show this month's sales by payment method." When the answer matches your dashboard, you are ready to use actions.

14

Prompts to manage checkout, sales and Pix with AI

Here are practical prompts for daily work with a payment MCP server. Adapt them to your products.

Create an offer and a link

"In my company 'Escola de Fotografia', create an offer called 'Black Friday Masterclass' at R$ 297. Then create a checkout short link with utm_source=instagram and utm_campaign=bf26."

Check Pix performance

"How many Pix sales did we have yesterday, what was the total revenue, and how does it compare with card sales?"

Find a customer's purchase

"Did the customer with email maria@example.com buy the Photography Masterclass? If yes, show the date, payment method and status."

Set up a webhook

"Create a webhook for purchase approved events that sends to https://hooks.example.com/atomicpay for the Masterclass product."

Prepare affiliate links

"List the affiliates of the Masterclass and create one short link per affiliate for the launch campaign."

Review the member area

"Show the modules and lessons of the Masterclass course and tell me which lessons have no video yet."

Update a price, with confirmation

"Change the price of the Starter offer to R$ 147." The assistant will ask you to confirm the amount in cents (14700) before saving. This extra step prevents expensive mistakes.

15

Best practices for safe MCP payments

AI assistants are powerful, so use them with the same care you would give a new team member:

Grant the minimum access. Approve only the companies the assistant needs.

Read before you write. Ask the assistant to show what it will change before it changes it.

Double-check prices. Confirm the amount in cents carefully. R$ 97 is 9700 cents, not 970.

Keep humans on refunds and payouts. Use the assistant for setup and reporting; handle money movements yourself.

Review connected apps regularly. Revoke connectors you no longer use from the dashboard.

Do not paste sensitive data into the chat. The payment MCP server already avoids sending card numbers, Pix codes and bank details; do not add them manually either.

16

Use cases: how teams accept payments with AI agents

Different teams use a payment MCP server in different ways:

Solo creators create offers and links during a live session without leaving the chat, and ask for a daily sales summary every morning.

Launch teams generate one tracked link per affiliate or influencer in minutes and check conversion by campaign during the cart-open period.

Customer support confirms purchases and subscription status quickly when a student says they did not receive access.

Agencies and operators managing several brands switch between approved companies and pull consistent reports for each client.

Developers set up webhooks and pixels faster while they build automations.

In all of these cases, buyers still pay through AtomicPay's normal checkout with Pix and card. The assistant manages the setup and the reporting; the payment itself stays inside a secure, Brazilian-ready checkout.

17

Start using the AtomicPay payment MCP server

A payment MCP server gives you a new way to work: you describe what you need, and your assistant creates the offer, the checkout link, the webhook or the report. AtomicPay's server is live today, covers Pix and card sales, respects your permissions and keeps card numbers, Pix codes and bank details out of the chat. Visit the AtomicPay MCP page to connect your assistant, or create your AtomicPay account to start.

18

Do I need to know how to code to use a payment MCP server?

No. You connect the server once by pasting a URL and signing in, then you work in plain language. Developers can still use it to speed up technical tasks such as webhooks, but a creator or operator with no coding skills can create offers, links and reports from the chat.

19

Can the assistant make a payment or move money on my behalf?

The AtomicPay payment MCP server is designed for managing your catalog, checkout, links, webhooks and reporting. Card numbers, Pix codes and bank details are not sent to the assistant, and bank accounts are excluded from the finance tools. Buyers still pay through the normal checkout.

20

What happens if the assistant makes a mistake when changing a price?

Price changes require confirming the amount in cents before they are saved, which catches most errors. If something is still wrong, you can correct it from the dashboard or ask the assistant to revert it. As a best practice, ask the assistant to show the planned change before it executes.

21

Can several people on my team connect their own assistants?

Yes. Each person signs in with their own AtomicPay seller account, and the connector acts as that user. Actions follow each person's role in each company, including product-level limits, so team members only do what their role already allows.

22

How do I disconnect the AtomicPay payment MCP server?

Revoke the connected app from the AtomicPay dashboard. You can also remove the connector from your assistant's settings. After revocation, the assistant can no longer access your account until you connect and approve it again.

Start your free trial at app.atomicpay.com.br/signup and offer Pix and cards in the same checkout, no code required.
