Pix Payment Links: How to Sell on WhatsApp and Instagram Without a Website
A Pix payment link is the fastest way to turn a conversation into a sale in Brazil. A buyer asks about your course, mentorship or ebook in a WhatsApp chat or an Instagram DM, you send one link, and the buyer pays by Pix in seconds. You do not need a website, a store or a developer. This guide shows you how to create a Pix payment link, how to sell on WhatsApp in Brazil and on Instagram with it, and how to track which conversation, campaign or seller produced each payment.
02
What is a Pix payment link?
A Pix payment link is a URL that opens a ready-to-pay checkout. When the buyer taps it, the checkout shows the product, the price and the payment options. If the buyer picks Pix, the checkout generates a Pix QR code and a copy-and-paste Pix code. The buyer pays in their banking app, and the payment is confirmed in real time.
The difference between a Pix payment link and a static Pix key is control. If you share your CPF or email Pix key in a chat, the buyer types the amount by hand, you check your bank statement manually, and nothing tells you who paid for what. A Pix payment link fixes all of that:
The amount is set for the buyer, so there are no typing errors.
The order is created automatically, with the buyer's name, email, phone and CPF.
Delivery can start on its own, for example access to a member area after the payment is approved.
Every sale is attributed, because the link keeps campaign, affiliate and seller parameters.
That is why a payment link in Brazil has become the default tool for creators, coaches, infoproducers and small teams that sell through conversations instead of a traditional online store.

Why sell on WhatsApp in Brazil with a Pix payment link
Brazil is one of the most chat-driven markets in the world. Buyers expect to ask a question on WhatsApp, get an answer and pay without leaving the conversation. At the same time, Pix has become the payment method most Brazilians use every day. In 2025 Pix processed close to 80 billion transactions, and 148 million individuals made or received at least one Pix payment, according to Central Bank figures reported in the Pix management report.
When you sell on WhatsApp in Brazil, a Pix payment link connects those two habits:
Lower friction. The buyer moves from chat to payment with one tap. There is no account to create and no cart to fill.
Instant confirmation. Pix is confirmed in seconds, so you can deliver access or send a thank-you message while the buyer is still online.
Faster cash. With AtomicPay, approved Pix sales settle on D0, the same day, so the money from a sale closed in the morning can fund the afternoon's ads.
No chargebacks on Pix. Unlike card payments, a completed Pix cannot be reversed through a card dispute. (Pix does have the MED return mechanism for fraud cases, which we explain in our guide to Pix MED refunds.)
The same logic applies to Instagram. Many Brazilian creators run their sales from Stories, Reels and DMs. A Pix payment link in a DM reply or a link sticker turns that attention into revenue without sending the follower to a page they have never seen.

Payment link Brazil checklist: what your link must include
Not every payment link in Brazil is built for local buyers. Before you send a single link, check that it covers these points:
Requirement
Why it matters for Brazilian buyers
Pix and credit card in one checkout
Some buyers prefer Pix for the discount and speed; others want card installments. Offering both on one Pix payment link avoids losing either group.
Pix QR code and copy-and-paste code
On mobile, buyers copy the code into their bank app. On desktop, they scan the QR code with their phone.
CPF/CNPJ, phone and email fields
Brazilian checkouts need tax ID data for records, and the phone number lets you follow up on WhatsApp.
Mobile-first layout
Almost every WhatsApp and Instagram buyer opens the link on a phone.
Attribution parameters
UTMs, fbclid, gclid, affiliate and seller IDs must survive the click so you know which chat or ad produced the sale.
Automatic delivery
Access to a course, file or community should be granted as soon as the payment is approved.
Recovery for unpaid Pix
Buyers who generate a Pix code and do not pay should get a reminder.
The AtomicPay checkout covers all seven points out of the box, which is why the same link works in WhatsApp, Instagram DMs, email and sales calls.
05
How to create a Pix payment link step by step
Here is how to create a Pix payment link with AtomicPay. The process takes a few minutes and does not need any code.
06
Step 1: Create your product and offer
In the AtomicPay dashboard, create the product you want to sell: an online course, a mentorship, a template pack, a community subscription or an ebook. Set the price in reais (BRL). If you plan to run different prices for different audiences, for example a launch price and a regular price, create a separate offer for each one. Each offer gets its own checkout and its own Pix payment link.
07
Step 2: Turn on Pix (and card) in the checkout
Open the checkout settings for your offer and make sure Pix is active. We recommend also leaving credit card active, because some buyers will want to split the payment into installments. Both payment methods live in the same checkout, so the buyer chooses on the payment screen. You can learn more about the Pix flow on the Pix checkout pagepix).
08
Step 3: Customize the checkout for chat buyers
People arriving from WhatsApp or Instagram already know you, so keep the checkout short. Add your brand colors and product image, keep only the fields you need (name, email, phone, CPF), and write a one-line summary of what the buyer gets. If you sell a main product with a natural add-on, set up an order bump so the buyer can add it with one tap before paying.
09
Step 4: Copy the payment link or create a short link
Copy the checkout URL. For chats, create a short link: it looks cleaner in a message and it keeps all your tracking parameters intact. If several people on your team sell through WhatsApp, create one short link per seller. Every sale made through that link will be credited to the right person.
10
Step 5: Add tracking parameters
Add UTM parameters that describe where the link is used, for example utm_source=whatsapp, utm_medium=dm and utm_campaign=launch-nov. For Instagram, use utm_source=instagram and a medium such as stories, bio or dm. AtomicPay carries UTMs, fbclid and gclid into the checkout session, so each sale shows the source, medium and campaign in your dashboard. You can also send purchase events to Meta through the Facebook Pixel and the Conversions API, which we cover on the integrations page.
11
Step 6: Send the Pix payment link and confirm the sale
Paste the link in the conversation with a short, clear message. When the buyer pays, the Pix is confirmed in real time, the order appears in your dashboard, and delivery starts automatically if you connected a member area or a webhook.
12
How to sell on WhatsApp in Brazil: message templates that convert
Knowing how to create a Pix payment link is half of the job. The other half is the message around it. These templates work well for creators who sell on WhatsApp in Brazil. Translate them into Portuguese for your buyers and adjust the tone to your brand.
After a buyer asks for the price
"The full program is R$ 497. You can pay by Pix and get instant access, or split it on your card. Here is your secure link: [Pix payment link]"
After a call or a live session
"Great talking to you today. As promised, here is the link with the special price, valid until midnight: [Pix payment link]. As soon as the Pix is confirmed you will receive your login by email."
For a buyer who said "I'll pay later"
"No problem. I left the link here so you can pay whenever it suits you: [Pix payment link]. Pix is confirmed in seconds, so your access is released right away."
Three rules make these messages work:
One link per message. Two links split attention and lower the click rate.
State the next step. Tell the buyer what happens after paying (access by email, a WhatsApp group invite, a call booking).
Use a deadline only when it is real. Fake urgency damages trust in a channel that depends on personal relationships.
13
Selling on Instagram with a Pix payment link
Instagram works a little differently from WhatsApp, so adapt your Pix payment link for each placement:
Bio link. Use a short link with utm_medium=bio. If you sell several products, point the bio to the best seller and offer the others in DMs.
Stories link sticker. Use a separate short link per campaign so you can compare which story sequence sold most.
DM replies. When a follower comments a keyword or replies to a story, send the Pix payment link with utm_medium=dm. If you use an automation tool for DMs, add the link to the automated reply.
Live sessions. Pin a comment with the link during the live and repeat it in DMs afterwards.
Because every placement has its own link and parameters, your AtomicPay dashboard shows which part of your Instagram strategy actually produces revenue, not just clicks.
14
Track every sale: attribution for chat and DM selling
The main weakness of selling through conversations is that sales become invisible. A buyer sees an ad, follows you, sends a DM, talks to a seller and pays by Pix three days later. Without tracking, that sale looks like it came from nowhere.
A Pix payment link with attribution fixes this:
Campaign parameters (UTMs, fbclid, gclid) are saved with the order, so you know which ad started the conversation.
Seller parameters credit the right team member, which makes commissions fair and easy to calculate.
Affiliate parameters keep affiliate credit intact even when the sale closes in a chat.
Purchase events sent to Meta through the Pixel and the Conversions API help the ad algorithm find more buyers like the ones who pay.
This is the real advantage of a payment link in Brazil compared to a plain Pix key: you stop guessing and start investing in the channels that bring paying buyers.
15
What happens when a buyer generates a Pix and does not pay?
Some buyers will open your Pix payment link, generate the Pix code and get distracted before paying. This is normal. A dynamic Pix code has an expiration time, so a buyer who comes back late may need a fresh code. AtomicPay's sales recovery brings back buyers who generated a Pix but did not complete the payment, while their intent is still fresh. For a full follow-up cadence with message examples, read our guide on how to recover unpaid Pix payments.
16
Common mistakes when selling with a Pix payment link
Avoid these mistakes and your Pix payment link will convert better from the first message:
Sharing a raw Pix key instead of a link. You lose the order record, automatic delivery and tracking.
Using one link for every channel. You cannot tell WhatsApp sales from Instagram sales. Create one short link per channel, campaign or seller.
Hiding the price until the checkout. Chat buyers want to know the price before they click. Say it in the message.
Removing the card option. Some buyers can only afford your product in installments. Keep card next to Pix on the same checkout.
No follow-up. Most unpaid Pix codes are forgotten, not rejected. A friendly reminder recovers a meaningful share of them.

Start selling with a Pix payment link today
You do not need a website to sell to Brazilian buyers. You need a Pix payment link that opens a mobile checkout, takes Pix and card, delivers access automatically and tells you where every sale came from. With AtomicPay you can create a Pix payment link in minutes, sell on WhatsApp in Brazil and on Instagram, and get approved Pix sales settled on the same day. There is no monthly fee and no fixed fee per sale; you pay a percentage only on approved transactions.
Create your free AtomicPay account and send your first Pix payment link today.
18
Does a Pix payment link expire?
The link itself can stay active for as long as the offer is active, so you can reuse it in your bio or in saved replies. What expires is the dynamic Pix code generated when a buyer chooses Pix at checkout. If the buyer returns after the code has expired, they simply open the Pix payment link again and generate a new code.
19
Can I send the same Pix payment link to many buyers at once?
Yes. A Pix payment link for an offer can be shared with any number of buyers, for example in a WhatsApp broadcast list, a community group or an email. Each buyer who opens it gets their own checkout session and their own Pix code, so payments never get mixed up.
20
How do I know which WhatsApp seller closed a sale?
Create one short link per seller. AtomicPay short links keep the seller parameter, so every order paid through that link is credited to the right seller in your dashboard, even if the buyer pays hours or days after the conversation.
21
Can a buyer pay a Pix payment link on a computer?
Yes. If the buyer opens the Pix payment link on a desktop, the checkout shows a Pix QR code that they scan with their banking app on their phone. On mobile, the buyer copies the Pix code and pastes it into the banking app instead.
22
Is a Pix payment link better than sending my Pix key in the chat?
For a business, yes. A Pix key only moves money. A Pix payment link sets the exact amount, collects the buyer's data, creates the order, triggers automatic delivery and records the campaign and seller behind the sale, so you can reconcile and scale your WhatsApp and Instagram sales.
